Degree Requirements
Students must complete 45 semester hours of course work with a minimum B (3.0) grade point average. During the course of the graduate program, eighteen (18) semester credit hours will be in areas defined as core archival knowledge that provides the theoretical and practical basis necessary to work as a professional archivist. In addition, nine (9) hours will include research methods, plus an internship/directed research or a thesis. The remaining hours will include interdisciplinary courses, with a concentration on information technology or archives management.

Typical Programs of Study
When students start the program, they meet with the program director to develop a program of study. The program is a framework, not a contract. The student and director review the program during advising each semester and make adjustments as necessary.
