Jon A Preston
Autobiography
Born in North Carolina, I grew up in Tampa, Florida. I attended Georgia Institute of Technology where I completed my
undergraduate and graduate work in Computer Science with specializations in
Human-Computer Interaction, Software Engineering, and Educational Technologies
in 1997 and 1998.
I received my PhD from Georgia State's CS Department
- research focus on real-time collaborative editing systems - in 2007.I have been teaching Computer Science and Information Technology in various
capacities since 1995. I am currently teaching in the Department
of Information Technology at Clayton State University. I have also been involved in three startup companies: a 508-compliance
for higher-education company (2001), an on-line survey and consulting group
(1999), and a computer game development company (1994). In addition to my
faith and family, my passions are teaching, programming, and gaming. While
I stay quite busy, I'm always interested in taking a break for a good game or
"geek" conversation!
Gaming
In the brief moments when I am able to find time and "decompress," I am
currently playing Roadwar 2000 (SSI), Secret of the Silver Blades (SSI),
and Ultima 7
part 2: Serpent Isle
(Origin). Others in the queue include: SpellForce and Neverwinter Nights 2.
I collect classic PC games (dating as old as 1984). If you have them to
sell/trade, please contact me. In particular, I am interested in acquiring old
Sierra, SSI, and Origin games.
An interesting tile puzzle game solved.
