Description

This project affords you an opportunity to research an area of HCI that interests you. Your task is to pick a topic that we have discussed or one from the list below and do an in-depth literature search on the area (Web sites are not valid references). Your final paper should reflect a broad examination of the topic and a report on the current activities in the field.

Deliverables

Submit a half-page description of your chosen topic; in this submission, clearly define what you will examine.
Next, submit a progress report on your findings. This should include no less than 10 references (in MLA or APA style) with a brief summary of each paper/reference.
The final paper should cover the area sufficiently and be professional quality (correct referencing, grammar, spelling, etc.). Organize your paper intelligently to convey the overall work in the area. Clearly cite all references. The overall paper will probably be in excess of 10 pages when complete.

Reference Sources

I have books in my office, and there are books available in the IT and CCSU library. Additionally, you can find many references at the ACM digital library (if you are not a member of the ACM, search the digital library and email sources that you need; I can email the PDFs of papers to you). Further, CiteSeer is an excellent source of papers (do a search and then click the CACHE PDF link in the upper right for the papers). More recent papers are preferred.
