Project

GA Department of Revenue Web Service Address Verification

Description

Purpose:

To verify that an address on file is a valid US address.

Info:

The current individual income system is in a legacy program called filePro.  We have address from a plethora of sources, current year tax return, IRS received data, manual entry, just to name a few.  The Department of Revenue gets quite a bit of return mail just because the address we have on file is not a valid US address. This is where you come in.

  1. Needs to run on a Web Server.
  2. Can the XML Address reside on a UNIX box or does it matter where it resides?
  3. Needs to pick up an XML file through polling or something similar.
  4. Need to re-write Code 1 from 2003 to 2005. (Start from scratch.)
  5. Name specific directories for Input and Output to allow them to be used for other Web Services. Want to think big picture when building classes and when designing flow of data.
  6. Naming conventions. Make sure to use Hungarian notation when writing code and please include comments.
  7. Export- Take what is received and pipe delimit and create an XML file. The XML file will not be used by current application but will be used in future .NET applications.
