Introductory Statistics
MATH 1231

This course involves the study of basic descriptive and inferential statistics. Topics include measures of center and variation, correlation and regression, sampling and experimental design, probability and random variables, statistical estimation, and hypothesis tests.

Required resources for the course:

  1. A laptop computer for use in class
  2. *The Basic Practice of Statistics" 5 ed, Moore
  3. JMP, bundled with the textbook.
  4. StatsPortal, bundled with the textbook

 

Pre-Requisites:

  MATH 1101 with a minimum US grade of C
Or MATH 1111 with a minimum US grade of C
Or MATH 1113 with a minimum US grade of D
Or MATH 1241 with a minimum US grade of D
