| Please set up your CSU email immediately, if it is not already active. | |
| If you purchased a used BPS book, you WILL need to purchase a stand-alone version of StatsPortal, if you do not already have access. You can buy it online (see the web Syllabus for more info). There is no getting around purchasing this!! If you purchased a new textbook this semester, it should come bundled with StatsPortal. | |
| Please check your email on a regular basis (every day or two). | |
| Please be sure to read the "General Instructions to the Student" link on the main 1231 page. |
StatsPortal Information:
| The StatsPortal course is set up. Once you have your StatsPortal access code, follow the instructions to get to the StatsPortal site and enter your code. Select Georgia and CSU, then find my name in the list of instructors. Please make sure you have the correct section! | |
| StatsPortal homework assignments can be found under the Assignments tab. |
| Please make sure that you have any Pop-up Killers set to allow pop-ups from the StatsPortal pages. | |
| Helpful information: On the main page in StatsPortal is a link to "Calendar". Click on this to see when homeworks open for you to work on, and when they close/are due. |
General Stat tips:
| When identifying the "Who" for a description of data, your answer should include, if possible, both a number and a description. Example: If 882 babies were examined, the Who is "882 babies", not "babies", and not "882". | |
| We will cover how to do various things in JMP on an "as-needed" basis in the Powerpoints and in supplemental files. |
